Description: Eliza J. Lefferts (1831-1867) was born in Bedford Corners (part of present-day Bedford-Stuyvesant). At the age of twenty, she married John Lefferts (1826-1895), a member of the Flatbush branch of the Leffertses. Eliza gave birth to six children between 1852 and 1860. She died suddenly in 1867.
